Staff

Scott Bush is the senior pastor here at Southcrest.  He is a graduate of Samford University and Beeson Divinity School and holds the Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  Scott served as an Army Reserve chaplain for over ten years, including a tour of duty in Iraq in 2005.  Scott is married to Missy, also a graduate of Samford University and a teacher at First Baptist Church, Alabaster.  Their two children, Shelby and Andrew, attend school in Helena.

                              

 

 

 

 

Carl Benedict has served the community at Southcrest for over ten years and is currently the associate pastor for education and outreach.  Carl is a native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he attended Lancaster Bible College.  He also holds the Master of Divinity degree from Columbia International University.  Carl loves the outdoors and is a coach in the Alabaster youth soccer league.  Carl's wife, DeAnne, also holds a graduate degree from Columbia.  She is a teacher at Evangel Classical School where their three children, Cara, Colson, and Chloe, all attend.

                                    

 

 

 

Josh Price joined our ministerial staff in the summer of 2005 and is currently serving as our full-time minister of youth and worship.  Josh graduated with a business degree from Auburn University and completed his Master of Divity degree at Beeson Divinity School in 2007.  He's a talented guitarist and percussionist and an avid golfer.  Josh and his wife Julia are both from the Hoover area but now they make their home in Helena.  Julia is a pharmacist and graduate of Mercer University.
